Thor Industries CEO steps down citing illness

JACKSON CENTER, Ohio (AP) — Thor Industries Inc. says chairman and CEO Wade F. B. Thompson is ill and has stepped aside.

The company, which makes recreational vehicles and buses, elevated the vice chairman to interim CEO.

The company didn't give any details Tuesday about Thompson's health.

Peter B. Orthwein, 64, a co-founder and director of the company, was named interim chairman, CEO and president. He has been vice chairman since 1986.

Thor's shares slipped 67 cents, or 2 percent, to $30.24 in afternoon trading.
