Taser Receives Texas Order for Electronic Devices

Taser International Inc. has received an order for more than 2,000 of its electric shock devices and accessories from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the company said on Wednesday.

The order, which is targeted to ship in the third quarter, will supply Texas troopers with the Taser X26 and is the fourth biggest deployment of Taser devices in the U.S.

More than 475 Texas law enforcement agencies use Taser devices.

The news release disclosing the order didn't say how much the sale was worth.

Earlier this week, a federal judge ruled in favor of Taser in a patent lawsuit that the Arizona company had filed against a rival.
