Novartis, QLT amend agreement on Visudyne treatment for blindness

VANCOUVER — QLT Inc. (TSX:QLT) to take over U.S. sales and marketing of Visudyne, its treatment for a common form of age-related blindness, in amended agreement with Novartis Pharma AG. The two companies have agreed to release each other from any claims against each other and QLT will continue to supply Visudyne to Novartis, which retains exclusive sales and marketing rights outside U.S.
