Fiat's Brazil subsidiary says it will hire 1,000 new workers in the next three months to ramp up production.
Fiat says in an e-mailed statement it wants to increase daily production by about 6.5 percent at a plant in the state of Minas Gerais.
The new workers at the Betim plant mean the Brazilian subsidiary of Fiat SpA will produce about 190 more cars per day.
It produces about 3,000 cars daily now.
