Entergy Louisiana agrees to buy generating unit

PINEVILLE, La. (AP) — Acadia Power Partners LLC has agreed to sell one of two generating units of the Acadia Power Station to Entergy Louisiana.

Acadia Power Partners is half-owned by a subsidiary of Pineville-based Cleco Corp. Entergy Louisiana has 669,000 power customers.

The Acadia Power Station, located near Eunice, began operation in 2002. It has two natural gas-fired generating units. Acadia Power Partners wants to sell all of one unit and 50 percent of the plant's common assets to Entergy Louisiana.

Cleco Power LLC, another Cleco subsidiary, is acquiring the other unit and the other half of the plant's common assets. Cleco would be the plant operator.
