DENVER (AP) — Enbridge Energy Partners LP has closed on the sale of 12 natural gas pipeline assets to American Midstream Partners LP for $151 million.

Houston-based Enbridge said it completed the sale Wednesday and will use the proceeds to finance an expansion program through 2010.

The assets include interstate gas pipelines and a network of intrastate pipelines, and gathering and processing systems in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee.

Denver-based American Midstream is a private partnership that operates and developments energy assets.
