Continental to start Newark-Munich service

Continental Airlines Inc., the world's fifth largest airline, said Thursday it will launch daily nonstop service between its New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport and Munich on March 27.

The new flight has been timed to provide connections at Munich to Continental's alliance members.

Continental currently offers nonstop service between Newark and Frankfurt, Berlin and Hamburg. The airline launched nonstop service from Houston to Frankfurt on Nov. 1.

Shares of Continental fell 40 cents, or 3 percent, to close at $12.97.
