
Comcast will sell local and regional ads for Verizon's FiOS starting in the fall.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Comcast is planning to sell advertising for rival Verizon's FiOS television service in 10 markets, starting in the fall.
Comcast Corp.'s advertising sales division, Comcast Spotlight, inked a five-and-a-half-year deal with the phone company to sell local and regional ads for Verizon Communications Inc., known as spot cable.
The 10 markets are Philadelphia, Baltimore, Boston, Fort Wayne, Ind., Harrisburg, Pa., Pittsburgh, Portland, Ore., Richmond, Va., Seattle and Washington, D.C.

In January, Comcast reached an ad sales deal with another competitor, Dish Network Corp. Comcast sells ads for Dish's ten regional sports networks feeds in seven markets.
Comcast Spotlight and its partners reach about 30 million subscribers nationwide.
