Ikanos Communications Inc., which makes chips for DSL modems, on Wednesday said its CEO has resigned and its chairman has taken over as interim CEO.

John Quiqley, the resigning CEO, said he will be "pursuing interests more aligned to my passion for change management and enabling both individuals and organizations to explore the unfettered art of the possible."

Diosdado Banatao, the executive chairman of the company, which is based in Fremont, Calif., also served as interim CEO from April 2010 to July 2010.
