CEO of AmeriGas Propane to retire next month

AmeriGas Propane Inc., the general partner of propane company AmeriGas Partners LP, said Wednesday that its president and CEO, Eugene Bissell, will retire March 2.

Jerry Sheridan, the company's current vice president and chief operating officer, will replace Bissell, 58.

AmeriGas Propane in October announced Bissell's plan to retire in 2012 and said in December that Sheridan, 47, would replace him. But the company only spelled out Wednesday when exactly Bissell would step down.

Sheridan joined AmeriGas as vice president and chief financial officer in 2005, before being named as its vice president and chief operating officer in May.
