Calpine gets new contracts from PG&E

HOUSTON (AP) — Power producer Calpine Corp. said Friday it entered into several new power supply contracts with Pacific Gas and Electric Co.

The contracts include new contracts to replace existing contracts it signed with the State of California during the energy crisis, as well as to increase the supply of renewable power delivered to PG&E from The Geysers, a geothermal facility.

Financial terms were undisclosed.

Shares rose 56 cents, or 5.2 percent, to $11.38 during late day trading.
