
Allergan Inc. said Tuesday that regulators approved a new version of its drug Lumigan as a treatment for open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
Allergan said the Food and Drug Administration approved Lumigan solution 0.01 percent solution, which is intended to be used once per day. Previously the company received approval for a 0.03 percent solution. Allergan said the newer version could be an option for patients who are changing their medication or starting treatment.
In aftermarket trading Allergan shares rose 61 cents to $62.03 from $61.42.
