Ainsworth Lumber names Chris Davies as new chief financial officer

VANCOUVER — Ainsworth Lumber Co. Ltd. (TSX:ANS) named Chris Davies as the company's new chief financial officer on Wednesday.

Davies, chief financial officer of MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd.'s (TSX:MDA) information products division, takes over the job at Ainsworth on Nov. 2.

Davies replaces Robert Allen, who has left the lumber company.

Last year, Ainsworth underwent a recapitalization that saw 100 million new common shares issued to its former shareholders and holders of its former senior unsecured notes which were cancelled under the deal.

The restructuring also saw Allen, Brian and Catherine Ainsworth — who held the president, chairman and chief executive, and chief operating officer roles at the company, respectively — leave those positions.

They are the children of David and Susan Ainsworth, who founded the company in 1950 with one mill.
