64,000 Pounds Of E-waste Collected At Denver Event

Denver, CO –Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, Samsung and Best Buy teamed together last week to provide a free electronic waste recycling event for local Denver area residents.

The e-waste drive, sponsored by Samsung and held at the Best Buy in Westminister, Colorado, was a major success – exceeding expectations by resulting in more than 600 cars coming to the event to drop off electronic waste.

The event took place last Saturday and was designed to enable consumers to drop off unwanted computer monitors, televisions and other electronic items for free while keeping potentially harmful electronic by-products out of landfills.

All of the e-waste collected will be properly recycled by ERI, who report they received two 53 foot trailers and six 24 foot trailers all packed with electronics from this one event. A total of 64,233 pounds of e-waste was collected.

Star wide receiver Eddie Royal of the Denver Broncos was on hand to lend his support for the event and greet fans.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to be partnered with Samsung, Best Buy and Eddie Royal for this terrifically successful e-waste collection event,” says John S. Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of ERI.

“We take our hats off to Samsung’s and Best Buy’s proactive efforts to rally the Denver community to keep this e-waste out of Colorado landfills and dispose of it properly and responsibly. I look forward to other future projects where we’ll be teaming together to help the great city of Denver go green!”
