Cymbet Introduced RF Induction Charger Eval Kit

Cymbet Corporation has released the EnerCup RF Induction Charger evaluation kit, CBC-EVAl-11, into global distribution. The kit is a way for electronics designers to experiment with near field RF charging of EnerChip CC rechargeable solid state energy storage devices.

Supplying “wireless power” using the near field RF induction method is a contactless solution for recharging the EnerChip in many applications in consumer and medical products – primarily to charge internal batteries.

The EVAL-11 kit includes:

  • An RF charging transmitter board
  • A USB cable to power the transmitter board from a PC
  • An EnerChip CC CBC3150-based receiver board with a Texas Instruments eZ430-RF2500T wireless network endpoint device.

Market research firm iSuppli estimates that 3.6 million RF Induction-based charging pads will ship in 2010. By 2014, iSuppli projects nearly 235 million units.
