Available in 0202 and 0303 chip sizes, WBC Series chip resistors measure 20 mil square and are wire-bondable. The devices, which offer a resistance range of 1 Mohms and a TCR of 䔽 ppm/°C, incorporate the manufacturer’s tantalum nitride thin film TaNSil technology and silicon substrate processing. The TaNSil process is said to produce an ultra-stable self-passivating tantalum nitride resistance element on silicon for enhanced stability, power dissipation, and precision. Able to withstand high surge conditions, the devices are available with gold backside metallization. WBC resistors can be used in hybrid circuit applications as well as battery-operated implantable applications in medical electronics, such as cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators. The 0303 two-resistor center-tapped chips can be used in feedback circuits of amplifiers, where ratio matching, high power, and close tracking between two resistors is critical. WBC resistors feature a power rating of 250 mW at 70°C, with a rated operating voltage of 100 V. Resistance range is 10 ? to 1 M?, with absolute tolerances to ۪.1 percent and ratio tolerances (0303 chip) to ۪.05 percent. Absolute TCRs are 䔽 ppm/°C, with tracking TCRs to ۬ ppm/°C. Operating temperature range is -55° to +150°C.
