The new Maxum III is available in two measuring ranges and with or without output options. Users can configure the device to the exact range and resolution of any Maxum product previously sold. Setup features include switchable inch/mm, selectable digital resolution, analog display range, dynamic measuring functions, tolerances, and measuring direction. Accessible via a battery door for easy replacement, the unit’s commercially available battery provides more than two years of operation. To further extend battery life, the unit features an auto power-down mode, which turns the unit off when not in use. A zero-based transducer is designed to maintain its reference point and the last zero reading when measuring resumes. The Maxim III digital indicator features a water resistance rating of IP54 and a line of remote transducers. The transducer is available with a canister or pencil probe, and can be buried in gaging fixtures while the display remains visible. Engineers can choose the Maxim III digital indicator with Classic Maxum, Digimatic, and ASCII data output configurations. Factory setup options include remote battery power and user setup lockout features. Maxum III standard measuring ranges include versions for ۪.04 in./1 mm or ۪.1 in./۫.99 mm. Resolution options include 0.0005 in./0.0001 in./0.00005 in./0.00002 in. (0.005 mm/0.001 mm/0.0001 mm/0.0005 mm). Users can calibrate any Maxum III unit for easy recertification and fast turnaround.
