Irvine, CA– Roland DGA Corporation announces the 2009 Roland University workshop schedule featuring the company’s most popular classes across the 3D, inkjet, engraving and custom apparel product lines.

“We are pleased to announce our 2009 schedule supporting customers across all product lines,” says Rick Scrimger, vice president and general manager for Roland. 

“These offerings address both the technologies and applications critical to our customers and provide them with the hands-on training they need for success in today’s market.”

Throughout 2009, Roland University will offer end users the following workshops taught by top industry professionals at the company’s state-of-the-art Irvine, California and North Kingstown, Rhode Island training facilities. 

In addition, the Born to Wrap Vehicle Graphics Workshop will be offered in Louisville, Kentucky at the headquarters of industry professionals Digital EFX Wraps.

3D Workshops

SRP and SRP Pro Workshops

During these two-day workshops, participants will learn all about the benefits of Subtractive Rapid Prototyping (SRP) and how to produce functional prototypes made from a wide assortment of materials.  Roland specialists will train participants on how to take advantage of their precision Roland MDX series milling machines to produce prototypes with a smooth surface finish in actual materials with structural, thermal and electrical characteristics. For designers and production personnel, both SRP Pro Workshops for MDX-540 users and SRP Workshops for MDX-40 customers are offered. 

Jewelry CAM Workshop

During this three-day workshop, participants will learn all about the benefits of their Roland JWX jewelry model maker and how to use it to produce precision wax jewelry models.  Roland specialists will help attendees re-tool their shops to take advantage of new jewelry production technology.  Students will master new, more efficient digital workflows they can use to produce a wide variety of jewelry items.
 
Inkjet Workshop Line-Up

In response to customer demand, Roland is pleased to offer this information-packed one-day workshop covering all the basics of digital printing with Roland inkjets including printers and printer/cutters. Throughout the session, users will discover new, exciting ways to get the most out of their Roland equipment including printer, VersaWorks RIP software and today’s most popular design packages. This class is a must for anyone who owns a Roland.

X-Rite Roland Color Workshop

Led by the professionals at X-Rite Color Services, widely recognized as the world’s leading authorities on color management training, support and professional service, this comprehensive one-day workshop teaches the fine points of color management in conjunction with Roland VersaWorks RIP software.  Participants will take their understanding of color to the next level as they learn first-hand from the experts.

Roland Productivity Workshop

Born To Wrap Vehicle Graphics Workshop

Participants in this popular two-day course will learn first hand how to take a vehicle graphics job from design to hands-on installation. Roland specialists will instruct on how to get the best possible results from a Roland inkjet including media and laminating choices. Industry professionals Digital EFX Wraps will demonstrate the tools and techniques required and provide hands-on instruction. 

Engraving And Custom Apparel Workshops

Indoor and ADA Signage Workshop

ADA requirements have caused demand for ADA signage to grow at an incredible rate. During this two-day workshop, participants will learn all about the benefits of rotary engraving and how to produce indoor and ADA signage from a wide assortment of materials.  Roland product managers will demonstrate which tools to use, provide software training and instruct in the various techniques required to produce ADA signage.

R-Wear Rhinestone Apparel Decoration Workshop

During this two-day workshop, participants will learn all about the benefits of rotary engraving and how to produce and profit from custom rhinestone motif templates for decorated apparel.  Students will learn strategies for obtaining the best possible results including which tools to use, software training and instruction on the various techniques required to produce R-Wear custom apparel.

Giftware, Awards and Recognition Workshop

During this two-day workshop, participants will learn how to produce giftware, awards and recognition items made from a wide assortment of materials.  Professionals will teach how to use precision Roland rotary engravers to obtain the best possible results and return on investment.  The class will demonstrate which tools to use including the software and the various techniques involved.
