Ultrasonic Proximity Sensors

Superprox Model SM900A-8 Series ultrasonic sensors offer a variety of proximity sensing solutions for objects up to 25 ft away.

Designed to have the same the mounting convenience as a 30-mm housing, a sensing range of 203 mm to 7.6 m, and a short deadband, the devices are factory configurable for long-range sensing applications that require a simple on/off output. Functionality selections include normally open or normally closed NPN and PNP outputs, complementary NPN or PNP outputs, and a variety of response times and default sensing window setup limits. Housings are made of rugged Ultem plastic or SS303 stainless steel, and units detect all materials regardless of color, shape, or composition, including clear glass, powder, food products, metal, plastics, and objects that change colors.

Capacities include 75 kHz frequency, a 20-degree beam, and an operating temperature range of -10° to +60°C. Units are not affected by changing light conditions, colors, and noise, and the epoxy transducer face allows the encapsulated sensor to perform in harsh environments such as acids, bases, and oils.
