The latest in servo drive technology used to create a high speed vertical case packing system.

The Model V 30 Vertical Robotic Case Packer from ESS Technologies

The M-16iC robot is also capable of handling payloads up to 20 kg (44 lbs.) with a repeatability of ±0.5 mm at full speed.

ESS Technologies, founded in 1993, specializes in complete packaging line design, manufacture and integration. The new Model V 30 Vertical Robotic Case Packer from ESS offers the ability to handle jars, bottles (plastic or glass), tubes, bags and cartons, which would be impossible with standard pick and place units, with a six-axis robot design.

Designed around a Fanuc M-16iC Robot, the V 30 Case Packer includes software to address most case packing applications. The ESS engineers have designed custom end-of-arm-tooling to meet the customer's requirements and offer less-than-a-minute tooling changeover times.

Both setup and operator training are simplified through a teach pendant with an Allen-Bradley operator interface. The PLC touch screen controls also enable the operator to monitor speeds, reset faults and maintain operational logs.

The V 30 Vertical Robotic Case Packer can receive product at a rate of up to 400 per minute. As the packer receives the product, it forms a case picked from the case magazine, inserts the product, and seals the case with either self-adhesive tape or hot-melt glue. The case magazine is ergonomically located to facilitate easy loading and is mechanically driven to maintain continuous feed to the case forming device.
