Harman Corp. has announced its new membership with The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI). SPI's members represent the entire plastics industry supply chain, including processors, machinery and equipment manufacturers and raw materials suppliers.
Membership in SPI gives Harman a voice in shaping the industry's future and provides a forum for interaction with fellow industry leaders. The Rochester-based plastics company, now in its third generation of family ownership, specializes in standard and custom dip molded parts in a variety of colors and textures.
“As (SPI) members, we now have access to a tremendous volume of industrial and technical informationas well as the opportunity to network with industry peers and colleagues,” says Ted Fisher, operations manager at Harman Corporation. SPI members are eligible to participate in various SPI committees, conferences and bi-annual board meetings.
Membership also entitles Harman to a variety of products and services. SPI runs the industry’s only safety awards program; has dozens of units dedicated to issues of concern in the plastics industry; and will now supply industry statistics and financial ratio studies specifically for Harman.
