The TMS805 RapidIO support package is designed for the intra-system communication architecture called Rapid IO. This interconnect architecture addresses the need for software transparency, reliability, and high bandwidth in network computing. It also optimizes interaction between chip-to-chip and circuit board-to-board.

The support package handles rates up to 1 GB/sec and enables designers to capture RapidIO transmit and receive buses, trigger on control symbols or packets using predefined templates for common trigger events, view captured data in a packet display, and automatically link the transaction-level and operation-level activities between the transmit and receive buses.
