Tension Indicators

FireGuard intrinsically safe tension indicators measure web process tension while protecting against explosions in converters, printers, coaters, and laminators exposed to flammable solvent vapor. The UL-Listed devices connect to tension transducers and a tension display installed in the hazardous area. By limiting energy delivered to the area to below that required for spark ignition, the units reduce the risk of fire and explosion.

The devices are easily adjusted with zero and calibration circuitry and come in a compact protective steel enclosure with a power supply for one or two transducers. Indicator outputs include a 0-10 V undamped, isolated output, for connection to a meter or recorder in the non-hazardous area, and a 0-1 mA damped meter output for connection to a mechanical meter in the hazardous zone.
