Tension Control System

TensionManager, a flexible, digital tension-control system, offers a family of specialized controller device modules that are designed specifically to reduce auxiliary equipment costs, optimize existing space, and integrate neatly into machine controls on OEM web machines and presses. Easy-to-install and set up for any web application, the base unit is a compact, single-board control module. Specialized DIN-rail modules extend the control module's functionality and are can be added on if required.

The unit is engineered as an alternative to the full-featured, integrated tension controllers that come in a single enclosure with a built-in operator interface. The TensionManager may be set up and operated through a variety of available user interfaces, including PCLink software running on a PC or laptop. The controller requires a minimum of tuning and operator adjustment.

Standard features include closed-loop tension control using tension transducer input, a choice of four operator interfaces, store/recall capabilities for up to 10 job set-ups, taper by external diameter input, soft start by tension or by switch, and tension limit switch for web-break detection.
