Synchronized Digital Video And Data

Each high-speed imaging application has its own unique requirements, but a significant number of applications can benefit from simultaneous capture of digital video and data. While the video shows what is happening during the high-speed event, a synchronized stream of instrumentation data from various types of sensors help to identify specific activities within the event.

Lightning RDT high-speed digital video cameras, along with MiDAS 2.0 camera/instrumentation control and analysis software, bring synchronized video and data together. The cameras are said to provide the highest full-frame video-capture rate available in a frame-grabber-based camera as well as memory capacity for extremely long record times.

The camera/software system is suitable for most industrial applications from automotive component safety testing and static airbag testing to optimization of manufacturing processes, drop/shock/vibration testing, spray/particle analysis, and impact analysis.

There are three models in the Lightning RDT Series, with maximum capture rates of 1,000, 2,000, or 16,000 fps. A typical package includes a camera head, 5-m detachable cable, 32-bit PCI custom frame-grabber board, and MiDAS software. Camera heads are interchangeable with the frame-grabber board and are available in monochrome, color, and low-light monochrome versions. Each version supports C- or F-mount lenses. The cameras and software are compatible with Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.

Pricing for the cameras starts at $18,000. Pricing for the MiDAS video/data synchronization capability begins at $5,995.
