Master Distributors Offers SPD Series Switching Power Supplies From Carlo Gavazzi

Master Distributors, a distributor of electro-mechanical, interconnect and passive components, now offers Carlo Gavazzi’s DIN rail SPD series of switching power supplies.

  • Designed for automation applications, the SPD series provides increased efficiency and performance in a compact space-saving design.
  • The series is available in a range of output wattages and voltages for low-power electrical and electronic tools.
  • The SPD series provides short circuit and overload protection, as well as internal noise filtering, diagnostic LED’s and a potentiometer for fine tuning the DC output voltage.
  • The switching power supplies are available in power ratings from 5 to 240 watts, output voltages from 5 to 48 volts, and universal 120 volts AC or 220 volts AC.

Systron Donner Automotive Named Inertial Sensor Supplier For John Deere

In another step aimed at increasing safety for all vehicles, inertial sensor supplier Systron Donner Automotive has entered into a supply agreement with John Deere to provide its IMU

  • The IMU is powered by Systron’s quartz MEMS MicroGryo.
  • John Deere will use the IMU for electronic stability control systems to keep heavy machinery stable under the harsh conditions of farming and construction.
  • The MicroGyro measures the actual direction of a vehicle which the system compares to the intended direction of the vehicle. If those two inputs are incongruent, the system activates specific braking to keep the vehicle stable.

Freescale Turns Up the Heat On Award-Winning MRAM

Freescale Semiconductor has announced the industrial and extended temperature qualification of its award-winning magnetoresistive random access memory (MRAM) products.

  • Freescale’s 1-, 2- and 4-Mbit MRAM families are now available at commercial (0° to 70°C), industrial (0° to 85°C) and extended (-40° to 105°C) temperature ranges.
  • The industrial and extended temperature range MRAM devices are designed to be used in rugged application environments, such as industrial, military, aerospace and automotive designs.
  • The commercial MRAM devices are intended for less environmentally demanding applications, such as networking, security, data storage, gaming and printers.
