The 461 Series Telecom Nano2 surface-mount fuse is made for telecommunications applications. The fuse is designed to work in conjunction with Littelfuse surface-mount Surgector transient voltage suppressors to provide protection from lightning, power cross, and other transient surge conditions. When used with such devices, the fuse should enable equipment such as telephones, modems, line cards, SLIC, set-top boxes, computer telephony equipment, PBX and SOHO products, and Pairgain equipment to comply with the requirements of Telcordia (Bellcore) GR-1089, UL 1950/IEC 950, FCC Part 68, and ITU K.20 and K.21 standards.
The fuse has ratings of 0.50 and 1.25 A. The 1.25A rating provides 600V/60A short circuit compliance for telecommunications applications. The unit's 10.10 by 3.1 mm footprint is described as 35 percent smaller than the current 2AG style fuses used for line protection compliance, which is intended to help save board space while providing better transmission quality and greater surge withstand characteristics.
It is packaged on a 24mm tape and reel. Pricing is 42 cents in quantities of 50,000 or more pieces.
