Sprectrum Analyzer

Model 2653 is a 150 kHz to 1.05 GHz spectrum analyzer. It is described as a compact, versatile, easy-to-use, PC-compatible benchtop unit suitable for use in the cable TV and telecommunications industry.

The device can be used for pre-compliance testing during development prior to third party testing. It can be put to work testing cable TV levels and frequency responses, testing master antenna TV systems, measuring communications transmitter spurious radiation, locating sources of EMI, or to measure unwanted RF radiation. An optional PR-261 near-field sniffer probe set can be used to locate cable and PC board emission hot spots and evaluate EMC problems at the breadboard and prototype levels.

The front-panel display provides measurement parameters such as Center Frequency, Marker Frequency, and Attenuation Levels. Other features include Save/Recall, Frequency and Level Marker, and RS-232 PC interface with Windows-based software. Performance characteristics include measurement of frequency signals from 150 kHz to 1.05GHz, dynamic range of 80dB, AM and FM demodulator, 20 and 400 kHz resolution bandwidth, 150kHz/hr. stability, and built-in tracking generator.

Measuring 4.9 in high by 15.0 in deep by 11.2 in wide, the analyzer comes complete with operating manual, Windows-based software, and line cord. It is priced at $3,295.
