Smart Motion Control Serial Adapter

SIN-10 intelligent RS232-to-RS422 serial adapters for motion control products are designed to reduce software development costs by increasing overall serial bus performance.

Supporting speeds up to 115 kbaud, the dual-UART device has both input and output buffers for fast, easy communication. The unit connects to a standard COM port to control more than 30 axes of motion. Its ability to perform independent handshake is vital when operating systems impede program access to computer I-O. Built-in macros and multiple commands per line reduce use of host CPU time, and diagnostic leads and configuration switches simplify setup. Special commands set the mode of operation, enable or disable echoes, and perform functions such as "scan for axis" and "wait while moving." Input strings are processed at output baud rates of 9,600, 38.4 k, or 470 k, allowing rapid multiple axis command execution.
