Serial Data Recorder

The DataBridge SDR-OEM captures data from any device equipped with a serial port and stores it in a PC-compatible file. It is a hardware solution that is ready to deploy with no programming or special application software required. All configuration is done using terminal software via the user's computer serial port, and since the SDR-OEM uses a PC-compatible file format, users can access data like any file on a computer.

The SDR-OEM gives users access to industry-standard ATA storage devices including removable disk products, solid-state disks, and hard disk drives in ATA, PCMCIA, and CompactFlash form factors.

A fully configurable serial port ensures compatibility with a range of devices. For devices that require it, the SDR-OEM can send commands to the attached device on initialization, shutdown, or at specific intervals. Users control when files are opened and closed, how files are named, and date/time stamping. Using the configuration port, users can connect to a computer to control and monitor recording, download files, change recording setting, or communicate with a device using serial passthrough mode.

The SDR-OEM is built around the DataBridge integrated circuit. The IC is the perfect solution for highly integrated OEM designs, and is available in several package styles.
