Rather than detecting leaks using a water bath, decaying pressure, or a mass spectrometer, the H2000 does the job using quickly dissipating hydrogen as a tracer gas; actually a safe mixture of 5 percent hydrogen and 95 percent nitrogen. The compact and flexible system can localize leaks, even microscopic ones, regardless of temperature, and minimizes background interference using dynamic background compensation. Because the H2000 is entirely electronic eschewing pumps or valves it can be used to find leaks on equipment, like aircraft, and requires a minimum of maintenance. It is also suited for tough factory settings. The H2000 does not use suction for sampling, eliminating contamination problems caused by dust. Also, its probe can be replaced in seconds, and a user friendly display and menus make it easy to change settings.
