Security Card Selected To Accelerate Security, Bandwidth Optimization

Los Gatos, CA –  Hifn (Nasdaq: HIFN) announces that Austria-based phion AG has selected its Express DS 250 high-performance security acceleration card.

phion is utilizing the Express DR 250 card to handle the security processing for the high-end of its netfence family of security appliances, including the new NF-850 model introduced by phion last week at CeBIT in Germany.

Delivering the a strong industry-standard encryption for securing data-in-transit, the Express DS 250, easily handles today’s encryption requirements and enables the next-generation network security applications for phion’s netfence appliances.

In addition, phion customers benefit from Hifn’s unique hardware-advantaged, lossless compression that is built into the card, enabling users to optimize their bandwidth by reducing the amount of data that is transmitted across the network with zero defect-data.

“Today more than ever OEMs such as phion are looking for high-value solutions that deliver competitive differentiation and minimize development risk by providing an off-the-shelf solution for network security and bandwidth optimization,” says Mike Goldgof, Vice President of Marketing at Hifn.

“phion’s products help IT professionals meet the most demanding security standards while ensuring economic viability, transparency and manageability across the corporate network,” says Klaus Gheri, CTO at phion.

“With the addition of the Hifn Express DS 250 technology, phion enhances its state-of-the art netfence appliances that addresses the need of enterprises to efficiently solve their network security issues while facing a continual lack of resources and an ever increasing need to cut costs.”
