3M Acoustic Solutions, a global supplier of noise reduction materials, has named Daniel Joseph Domme Jr. and Tyler Dare as the 2008 recipients of the “3M Acoustic Solutions Scholarship.”
The $5,000 scholarships were awarded to the two most outstanding graduate level students in recognition of their high level of achievements in the field of acoustic sciences, contributions to the profession, and intent to pursue a career in Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) engineering.
Daniel Joseph Domme Jr. just earned an M.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and has been accepted as a Doctoral Candidate in the field of Acoustics at Penn State University. Daniel has received many academic awards and is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering.

Tyler Dare is pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. He has work experience at the university level, doing acoustic consulting, and acoustic modeling. He has won numerous academic honors and is an active member of the U.S. Institute of Noise Control Engineering.

The scholarship awards were presented at the Noisecon Conference in Dearborn, MI from July 28-31.
