Rapid Prototyping

The ProtoKey Rapid Prototyping Service allows an embedded systems developer to make any serial EEPROM portable instantly. Almost any EEPROM device available in an 8-pin SOIC, TSSOP, or DIP package can be placed onto the ProtoKey. The ProtoKey is inserted into a panel-mounted or PC board-mounted Keyceptacle (connector), providing a physical interference to the customer's circuitry.

Possible applications for this include testing functionality of unique Serial EEPROM in an access control system for a gaming machine, and weather instrument applications. The unit can be used to testing functionality of Serial EEPROM, making a design change or improvement, or exploring new technology. ProtoKey has a 24-48 hour turnaround, which can shorten the design process, thus reducing time to market.

The unit allows response time to a customer's need to be in a matter of days, rather than weeks. The ProtoKey is suitable for proof-of-concept and development work.
