Prototyping Service Provider Expands Equipment Portfolio And Increases Capacity

American Precision Prototyping, LLC, a service bureau providing high-quality Rapid Prototyped and Rapid Manufactured parts, added a second 3D Systems’ SL Viper™ to their equipment portfolio.

The 3D Systems Viper™ Pro has an expired build envelope of 25.6x29.5x21.66iin over other SL equipment and produces models with superior surface finish, feature detail and definition out of the machine compared to other SL equipment. The minimal amount of hand finishing required ensures the models customers receive are as close to the CAD file as possible.

“We are very excited about purchasing our second Viper™ and have made the decision to install this pro at Spectrum3D, our Anaheim, CA, facility,” sates Jason L. Dickman, President of APP & Spectrum3D. “Our California customers expect a more “hands on” approach and prefer to come into the shop to see their parts being made, pickup their order and discuss future projects face-to-face with our staff. Having the pro in the shop will give them an opportunity to see just how large their large parts can be, and will also give them the confidence in our capacity and ability to accommodate their projects,” continued Dickman.

APP purchased their first Viper™ earlier this year and have had excellent results from the machine and positive feedback from customers purchasing Pro parts. The Viper™ Pro, with its expanded build envelope, has allowed APP to run more projects simultaneously than before in increased efficiency and faster turn around times for customers.

“We are very pleased to offer an increased capacity to our customers,” states Chris Wentworth, General Manager of Spectrum3D. “Our customers have come to appreciate the speed in which their parts are produced and the exception quality of the models they receive and the Viper™ Pro has and will continue to directly contribute to this achievement.”

“Having strategic partnerships with companies like 3D Systems allows us to offer the latest equipment and materials on the market to our customers. This  gives our customers the confidence that we are truly leaders in our industry and have the wherewithal to offer them the tools need to get their products to market fast,” states Jason L. Dickman, President of Spectrum3D.
