Precision Ground Ball Screws

SKF inch series precision ground ball screws are designed to offer durability and high performance in linear-actuation applications, including factory and lab automation, robotics, and material handling. Featuring an internal recirculation system design, the ball screws can lift, lower, pick-and-place, and perform related positioning operations for computer-controlled equipment. The non-tube internal return design incorporates balls in each circuit, which are removed from the raceway and returned to it by solid metal deflector pins. This design eliminates the need for return tube components and helps to facilitate high-speed operation. To ensure simple installation, hardened all-metal recirculation deflectors are blended to match the device’s thick-walled nut surface. The one-piece flanged nut construction provides built-in accuracies for concentricity, squareness, and straightness, while integral nylon wipers at each end of the nut protect against contamination. Featuring overall lengths up to 60 ft, the ball screws are available in sizes ranging from 3/8 to 6 in. diameter with leads from 0.1 to 1 in. Engineers can choose from preloaded and non-preloaded designs and custom options.
