Position Feedback Pneumatic Cylinder

The Model PFCL position feedback cylinder features an integral rod lock and comes in five bore sizes up to 3 in. When used with the PCS pneumatic position control system, the rod lock provides a precise, highly repeatable hard stop at the actuator's desired position. The cylinder also works with a three-position, five-way directional control valve. In that case, the rod lock serves as a final midposition hard stop but sacrifices some accuracy.

A clamp/cam device holds the rod in position in the event that air pressure is lost. Holding force ranges from 90 to 700 lbs depending on the bore size. The cylinder can be used to adjust the position in a variable press, as an adjustable diverter for a flow gate, and in a bar feed for feed clamp mechanisms, as well as in other applications.
