Pneumatic Tension Brakes

Series 60 dual-disk brakes, available in six sizes, are designed to work in high- and low-speed unwind applications in a torque range of 1-1,000 lbs-in. Easy to install and use, the devices are designed for low-tension unwinds in converting, printing, composite, wire, and filament processes.

They deliver the precise torque range needed for a particular application by actuating the number of cylinders needed from one to six. Raised fins on the outer disk surfaces provide good heat dissipation for continuous industrial use, and "no squeal" friction pads are available in three friction coefficients. Braking force is applied to the disks on both sides of the brake actuator assembly with the pistons of each cylinder.

Features include easy pad removal and installation, a limited travel actuator piston to prevent disk scoring, and a return spring design to prevent puncturing of the actuator diaphragm.
