The new Cannon PHD line of optical interconnects is designed to deliver high performance, high density, and easy maintenance. In addition, the fiber-optic connector system is flexible and scaleable. Based on an industry-standard 1.25 mm ceramic ferrule, the Cannon PHD system enables a higher density optical system than traditional SC, ST, or MC ferrule technologies. Further, the Cannon PHD optical core connectors’ bodies and structured cable systems have been engineered to support mission-critical applications within data-carrying networks. The design is highly robust and minimizes the potential for operator error, further simplifying field service and repair. The product’s end face is GR-326-compliant. Specific systems can be identified for panel mounting, use on backplanes and rack and panel designs, interface with the standard MIL-C-38999 footprint, or applications that require exposure to outdoor and factory environments where commodity fiber-optic products prove unsuitable. Applications include telecommunications, automotive systems, commercial aircraft, data-communications, industrial applications, medical products, and military applications. Also available are cable assemblies, switches, dome arrays, keypads, multi-function grips, panel switch assemblies, I/O card kits, smart card systems, and LAN components.
