An upgrade to the Sinmerik 840D CNC allows dynamic, real-time linking of up to eight units and, therefore, control of up to 248 axes and spindles by assignments to just one CNC, which can be fitted with several operator panels.

Also, operator PCs are now an option with either Microsoft Windows XP or Windows NT operating systems. In addition, the operator interface has been redesigned for ease of use, and operating components have been supplemented with upgraded machine panels and, for large series production in the automotive industry, a 15-in. touch panel.
