Newark recently received 25 Channel Marketing Awards from the National Electronic Distributors Association (NEDA) based on the creativity and effectiveness of its marketing communications, sweeping the competition's 11 categories.

Electronics distributor Newark racks up a record 25 industry marketing awards.

NEDA also awarded its first "Best in Show" award to Newark in recognition of its achievements.

The awards were presented at the 2007 NEDA Executive Conference in Chicago on November 5. Newark received 7 Platinum Excellence Awards for image advertising, integrated marketing campaigns and a corporate newsletter directed to design engineers.

Allied signs distribution agreement with Pico Technology

Allied Electronics, a subsidiary of Electrocomponents, has signed a distribution agreement with Pico Technology to distribute its complete product line of PC based oscilloscopes and accessories.

The Pico product offering is featured in Section 1 of the 2008 Allied catalog.

Greatbatch announces definitive agreement to acquire EAC for $12 million

Greatbatch has announced that its subsidiary, Electrochem Commercial Power, recently signed a definitive asset purchase agreement to acquire Engineered Assemblies Corporation (EAC) for approximately $12 million in cash.

EAC, based in Teterboro, NJ, with operations in Suzhou, China, is a provider of custom battery solutions and electronics integration focused on rechargeable battery systems.

Samsung Electronics selects PTC Windchill as digital product development data repository.

PTC, the Product Development Company®, has announced that Samsung Electronics Co. (SEC) has selected PTC Windchill as its digital product development data repository to manage an integrated Bill of Materials (BOM) of mechanical, electrical and software data across its globally distributed product development environment.

Recently, SEC expanded its business partnership with PTC by implementing an additional 3,600 seats of Windchill for its Bill of Materials (BOM) project, which is scheduled for completion in 2008 and ties directly into its corporate strategy to provide a single, configurable BOM for each product that manages options and variants, and engineering BOM to manufacturing BOM relationships. SEC expects to improve the quality of BOM information, improve time-to-market of products, and improve its operational efficiency. When this project is fully implemented, SEC will be one of the largest Windchill customers in Asia.

Chainflex cables and Energy Chain cable carriers meet ISO standard in clean room applications

The Green Hills are alive for Microchip’s PIC32 MCU Family

Green Hills Software and Microchip Technology have announced that Green Hills’ software development product suite, including the MULTI® integrated development environment, Green Hills compilers and Green Hills Probe, are now available for Microchip’s PIC32 family of microcontrollers (MCUs). The PIC32, based on the MIPS® M4K™ core, is Microchip’s first 32-bit MCU family.

The Green Hills solution for Microchip’s PIC32 family consists of the following components:

Endevco moves logistics operation to Switzerland

Endevco has announced the relocation of its European logistics operation. The logistics operation has been migrated from the Endevco Vertriebs facility in Eckental, Germany, to a new physical distribution center at the Endevco/Vibro-Meter SA facility in Fribourg, Switzerland. Existing contacts for customer support will remain unchanged.

Endevco maintains European local sales offices in France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom. Application engineering support is provided from these offices as well. The company also has reseller relationships with CVMSL (also an Endevco authorized calibration center) and Active Electronics in the United Kingdom, Akron NV in Belgium, FGP Scandinavia in Sweden and Belotti Sistemi in Italy.

Ansoft certifies automotive industry standard VHDL-AMS models for use with Simplorer Multi-Domain System Simulator

Ansoft Corp. has certified the VHDL-AMS models available from the FAT-AK30 working group of the German Association of the Automotive Industry, the Verband der Automobilindustrie (VDA), to run in Simplorer, the company's multi-domain system simulation software.

The German Association of the Automotive Industry consists partly of automobile manufactures and their development partners. The working group FAT-AK30 is organized within the German Association for Research in Automobile Technology (FAT) of the VDA.

The group provides its open-source VHDL-AMS model library to support the interchange of models between car manufacturers (OEMs) and their suppliers.
