Audio Connector Inducted Into TECnology Hall Of Fame

The XLR connector was developed nearly 50 years ago in 1958, and it has grown to become a universal solution for both analog and digital connections.

ITT Interconnect Solutions recently received an industry award for its XLR Series audio connector. Recognized for excellence in technical innovation to the audio market, the XLR Series audio connector from ITT’s Cannon brand has been inducted into the TECnology Hall of Fame by the Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio.

  • The XLR connector was developed nearly 50 years ago in 1958.
  • The XLR Series audio connector features a quick-disconnect latch lock along with a rugged design to withstand extended field use.
  • The plugs and receptacles offer precision, machined contacts, shock-absorbing rubber insulators and lightweight aluminum shells.

Ansoft Corp. Revenue Increases 15 percent; Operating Income Increases Over 35 percent

Ansoft Corp. has announced financial results for its third quarter of fiscal 2008 ended January 31, 2008.

  • Revenue for the third quarter totaled $26.1 million, an increase of 15 percent compared to $22.7 million reported in the previous fiscalyear's third quarter.
  • Operating income for the third quarter was $10.0 million representing a 36 percent increase when compared to an operating income of $7.4 million in the previous fiscal year's third quarter.

DIRAK Launches New Website

DIRAK has introduced a new global website with an improvement in terms of content, appearance and navigation.

Abu Dhabi Hosts GE’s First Dedicated Calibration, Repair And Training Service Center In Middle East

GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies has opened its first dedicated calibration, repair and training service center in Abu Dhabi at the CERT Technology Park.

  • The new facility will serve all Gulf countries outside Saudi Arabia.
  • The service center will offer state-of-the-art calibration equipment for pressure and moisture sensors, particularly for the oil and gas and aerospace sectors, and will be the only resource in the region capable of calibrating GE’s range of moisture meters.
  • Training will be an important function at the center for both GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies.
  • Typical non-destructive testing courses will cover the use of GE’s ultrasonic, remote visual inspection, radiography and eddy current equipment.
