By Len Vermillion, Managing Editor
When the manufacturing industry arrives at Chicago’s McCormick Place for this year’s National Manufacturing Week, attendees will find a lot of talk about the state of U.S. manufacturing. While many companies are sending manufacturing overseas to compete, the theme of this year’s event will be to keep the U.S. at the top of its game. The theme for the week will be “world beating manufacturing.” In keeping with that theme, the show will feature more than 1,000 exhibitors displaying innovations, technologies, and new products to help U.S. companies do more than just compete in the world market. To that end, more than 300 conference sessions will be held and more than 400 expert speakers will be heard, all aimed at providing helpful information that can be used immediately. In addition, attendees will get a chance to do something they can only do during the four days the Windy City is transformed into a manufacturer’s haven. They get to touch and feel the latest products on the market and get a first-hand look at the future of U.S. manufacturing.
