Incremental And Absolute Encoders

CoreTech is a new concept in incremental and absolute encoder technology. It uses a small number of programmable encoder cores, in combination with a variety of standard mechanical packages, to achieve millions of possible encoder designs.

The heart of each core is a proprietary hybrid OPTO-ASIC and a small disk with a barcode track. Unlike conventional encoders, which have code disks with a continuous repetition of opaque and transparent fields, the CoreTech disk condenses absolute position information into one non-repeating circular barcode pattern. A second track with 1024 analog sin/cos cycles is used to enhance resolution and accuracy.

CoreTech encoders offer incremental counts from 1 to 8,192 pulses per revolution without extra lead time even for uncommon resolutions. The same applies to all absolute encoders with any resolution between 2 and 32,768 steps per turn.
