Hospital-grade Isolation Transformers

The ISO-Puck line of enclosed hospital-grade isolation transformers is available in three power ranges – 300, 600, and 1,000 VA for 117 V/60 Hz line frequency. Engineers can also choose a 240 V/60 Hz version. The transformer can be installed between the wall outlet and any electrical or electronic apparatus used in patient care areas. The device is designed to provide increased protection from electric shock for staff and patients at hospitals, medical clinics, doctors’ and dentists’ offices, and other healthcare facilities. The ISO-Puck transformer complies with the required maximum leakage current for patient care areas. As a result, healthcare facilities can purchase commercial-grade computers, printers, monitors, and other devices instead of more expensive medical-grade models. The ISO-Puck transformer housing includes a bracket for single-screw wall mounting in rooms. The device features a sleek design and neutral color to ensure that it fits in any type of environment. Its round shape is said to make the device simple to clean. Engineers can install the device in a rack or inside equipment using the threaded insert on its rear surface. Inside a round steel enclosure, the transformer is potted in epoxy compound. The outside finish is scratch-resistant, off-white powder-coated enamel. The ISO-Puck transformer has a 2-ft cord and a green dot hospital-grade plug. In terms of output, the device features a 3-ft cord with a hospital-grade receptacle. Custom-length cords and cords with IEC 320 receptacles and plugs are available. Engineers can choose to connect commercially available power strips as needed. Designed for maximum 50-uA leakage current, the transformers are certified to UL60601-1 and CSA STD c22.2 No. 601.1 and intended for 60 Hz operation only. Outside diameter of the housing ranges from 5-1/8 in. (130 mm) for the 300 VA and 6 5/8 in. (168 mm) for the 600 VA to 8-1/4 in. (210 mm) for the 1,000 VA. Weight is 8 lbs (3.6 Kg), 13 lbs (5.9 Kg), and 20 lbs (9.1 Kg), respectively. Height ranges from 2 ¾ in. (70 mm) to 3 in. (76 mm). Pricing begins at $190 for the 300 VA, $237 for the 600 VA, and $289 for the 1,000 VA.
