High-power, Small Footprint Leds

Dorado Series 1-watt LEDs are said to occupy the industry's smallest footprint for their power level. They operate with forward currents of 300 to 450 mA and generate an output of up to 45 lumens. As result, the LEDs are aimed at illumination applications including automobile signals, backlighting, outdoor signs, and architectural, display and task lighting. The LEDs feature a 7 x 7-mm molded-lens package having an exposed pad design to improve thermal performance and, therefore, extend operating life. Other features include viewing angles ranging from 70 to 140 degree and a -20° to +80° operating temperature range. Available colors are blue (465 nm), green (520 nm), red (633 nm), white (x=0.30, y=0.31), and yellow (591 nm). The LEDs sell for $1.99 each in quantities of 10,000.
