These gallium arsenide ICs are for frequency upconversion in the transmit (Tx) and local oscillator (LO) chains of digital radio and satellite communications systems. The TGC4405 provides RF upconversion, an LO frequency doubler and output RF signal amplification. Typical conversion gain is 13 dB, IF bandwidth is 0.5 to 3.0 GHz, OTOI is 29 dBm and LO input power range is -5 to +5 dBm. The TGC4402 provides upconversion without an integral LO doubler or output amplifier. Typical conversion loss is 9 dB, IF bandwidth is 0.5 to 3.0 GHz, ITOI is 18 dBm and LO signal rejection is -30 dBc. Both the TGC4405 and TGC4402 run at 17 to 27 GHz and don’t require external baluns. The TGC4403 is a frequency doubler that runs from 16 to 30 GHz and includes an output buffer amplifier. Gain is 18 dB, fundamental signal rejection is greater than -30 dBc and output RF Power is 20 dBm nominal.
