Enhanced Machine Design Software

Version 15 of Solid Edge, a machine design tool, includes Solid Edge Classic and such popular add-on software modules as XpresRoute for wiring and tubing, Feature Recognizer, Engineering Handbook, and the latest standard parts library.

Solid Edge Classic includes full solid modeling, surfacing, assemblies, drafting, weldments, sheet metal, translators, and design management functions. Solid Edge Version 15 extends beyond the realm of component fit to emphasize a product's function and how components interact. In addition, it features an application for defining and storing standard machine components like fasteners, pins, bearings, and structural members.

Other enhancements address overall manufacturability by incorporating design intent into both 3D models and flat patterns, flexible display configurations for working with machine assemblies having well over 100,000 parts, and improvements in XpresRoute for tubing that give overall relationship control and associativity.

Through the end of March 2004, Solid Edge Version 15 is being offered for $6,495.
