Version 4.0 of AutoSolids and AutoSolids Express add parametric 3D solid modeling, enhanced visualization, and 3D-to-2D automation tools to AutoCAD and AutoCAD-based packages. AutoSolids and AutoSolids Express are available for AutoCAD versions 14.01 through 2006 and all versions of Mechanical Desktop and Architectural Desktop. Version 4.0 offers enhanced solid modeling capabilities, thanks to its shelling and offset tools and its ability to punch and trim 3D solids with open or closed 2D profiles. The 3D features of AutoSolids Version 4.0 are designed to turn AutoCAD into a comprehensive 2D/3D system that maintains native DWG format at all times. The software’s parametric solid modeling system maintains the complete construction history of all solids. By working without constraints, AutoSolids reduces the time it takes to create 3D models. AutoSolids' parametric editing tools allow engineers to completely change solids in the same way they were created. For example, extrusion heights, sweep paths, and profiles can be changed, and boolean operations can be undone. Engineers can also change shelled and trimmed solids as well as punching profiles. The features of Version 4.0 are completely integrated within system. AutoSolids' RealView toolset is said to improve the realtime display of 3D solids. The QuickDraw feature instantly creates multi-view 2D geometry from 3D solids for accurate detail drawings. Additional features include parametric solid arrays and direct extrusion of text into solids. Version 4.0 is available at no cost to existing AutoSolids customers. New single-user licenses of AutoSolids are available for $495. Licenses of AutoSolids EXPRESS are priced at $295.
