Encoder With Brushless Commutation

RCML15 low-profile encoders combine brushless motor commutation pulses and incremental position feedback in a low-profile single optical encoder designed for applications where space is critical.

The LED and sensor arrangement reduces cost while improving performance and reliability. The device features a patented slide/gap mechanism for easy installation and maximum performance. A built-in servo groove allows 䔸-degree rotation of the encoder to align the commutation tracks with the motor poles. Resolutions are up to 2,048 lines and commutation is provided for four-, six-, or eight-pole brushless motors.
